Search Adopted Resolutions:


WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Education recognizes effective teaching practices by improving academic performance and making a difference in students’ lives; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Henderson, a kindergarten teacher at Floyd Elementary School in the Montgomery County School System; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Education recognized Cynthia Henderson as a No Child Left Behind American Star of Teaching recipient; and
WHEREAS, this fall, teachers of all grade levels and disciplines from across the nation are being recognized as American Stars of Teaching to encourage and honor the teaching profession; and
WHEREAS, American Stars of Teaching are teachers who, regardless of challenges faced, are improving student achievement across the nation and therefore proving false the myth of “unteachable” students; and
WHEREAS, these teachers are being honored for their contributions to the classroom, achievements, and successful implementation of No Child Left Behind:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Alabama State Board of Education and State Superintendent Joseph B. Morton commend Cynthia Henderson for her personal efforts, hard work, and dedication to ensuring excellence in her students and for the special recognition she received for Alabama as an American Star of Teaching.
