The Intergovernmental Relations/Legislative Policy & Advocacy coordinates all legislative actions in order to effectively communicate the State Department of Education's position on all legislative issues to members of the legislative and executive branches of government, as well as the general public. On this SDE Legislation site, you will be able to follow the status of certain education-related bills that the Department will be tracking. The tracking information will be updated every Friday during the Legislative Session.
In order to read the bills (PDF files), you are required to have Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Click here to download and install Acrobat Reader.
This tracking page is updated every Friday. For the most up-to-date information it is best to check late on Friday afternoons or Monday mornings.
Should there be a piece of legislation you are interested in that is not on our legislative tracking, you can access the Alabama Legislative Information System Online (ALISON), by going to www.legislature.state.al.us, the official Website of the Alabama Legislature. There you will be able to find:
