Question:   How do I get a copy or information related to the report card for my school or school system?

Answer:   By School
1 – Go to www.alsde.edu
2 – On the left hand side of the page, highlight the “Reports” button
3 – Select a system from the dropdown box
4 – Select a school from the dropdown box
5 – Select “Report Card” under the desired year

Answer:   By School

Question:   How do I get a copy of the Annual Report?

Answer:   1 – Go to www.alsde.edu
2 – On the left hand side of the page, highlight the “Reports Info” button
3 – Select “SDE Annual Reports”
4 – Select the desired Annual Report


Question:   How do I obtain a copy of mailing labels or the applicable information for Superintendents, Principals, or Teachers?

Answer:   Requests for mailing labels should be submitted to request@alsde.edu or by faxing your request to (334) 242-2818. Faxed requests should be sent to the attention of “Information Request”. Please include the requestor’s name, company name (if applicable), address, and phone number. Additionally, the detail regarding what type of labels or information being requested should also be included. Note: External requests may incur a nominal fee, by invoice, to cover the cost of labels and shipping.


Question:   Where can I get technical assistance regarding the purchase of hardware and software for my school or school system?

Answer:   If you need technical assistance in regard to the purchase of hardware or software, please contact the Information Systems Services Help Desk at (334) 353-7018. If you need technical assistance in regard to infrastructure plans (i.e., wiring, hubs, etc.), please contact the Office of Technology Initiatives at (334) 232-9594.


Question:   Where do I find student achievement data for specific schools or school systems throughout Alabama?

Answer:   1 – Go to www.alsde.edu
2 – Click on **2002 Accountability Reporting System**
3 – Click on “Accountability Reporting System”
4 – Select the type of report desired
5 – Select a school system
6 – Select a school
7 – Select a grade
8 – Select a subject
9 – Select the appropriate categories
10 – Click on the “Get Report” button


Question:   Where can I find information regarding IT opportunities within Education in the State of Alabama?

Answer:   General State of Alabama employment questions including job classifications and available employment registers are available on the State of Alabama Personnel Department’s website at www.personnel.state.al.us.

Questions regarding vacancies within the State Department of Education (SDE) should be directed to the SDE Personnel Section at (334) 242-9900.


Question:   How do I get on an approved vendor list for the purchasing of hardware and software?

Answer:   Contact the State Purchasing Department at the following address, phone number, or fax.

Question:   What are the procedures for requesting data or information from the SDE, including customized reports?

Answer:   Requests for data and information, including customized reports, should be submitted to request@alsde.edu or by faxing your request to (334) 242-2818. Faxed requests should be sent to the attention of “Information Request”. Please include the requestor’s name, company name (if applicable), address, and phone number. Additionally, the detail regarding what type of labels or information being requested should also be included.
Note: External requests may incur a fee, by invoice, at a rate of $15/hour to cover the cost of programming time.


Question:   How do I find out what State Board member represents a particular school system?

Answer:   1 – Go to www.alsde.edu
2 – On the left hand side of the page, highlight the “School Info” button
3 – Select “By County (state map)”
4 – Select the appropriate county
5 – The State Board Member for this school system is displayed at the top of the page.
